Tēnā koutou.

Hi everyone and welcome to 2024. This will be my 8th year teaching, and first as Principal at Sanson School. I am extremlly excited to be leading this amazing team.

My wife Felicity, and three children Flynn, Darcy, and Arlo live in Colyton on a great little lifestyle block. We love getting outdoors, spending time on the water, fishing, and exploring.

Personally, I have a huge interest in engineering, digital technologies, and 3D printing. I hope to explore all of these throughout the year, and see what all students can all come up with.

Chris Kearney

Senior Release Teacher

I have worked at Sanson School since 2015; firstly, as the teacher in the Senior class, then as acting Principal/teacher for Term 4 in 2022 and as Principal Release in 2023 and now 2024. I have been teaching for over 40 years which has included the last 9 years at Sanson School. I really have enjoyed working here; alongside the staff and students and getting to know the wider school whanau and community.

I live in Palmerston North with my wife who works at Massey University. I have two adult sons, Dan and Joe. Dan lives in Melbourne Australia and Joe is married and lives in Wellington. Recently I became a grandfather for the first time and a lot of our spare time is spent visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Wellington and of course their son who is at present less than two months old.

My interests are sports, both playing and watching, however these days I’m not as able as I once was. I enjoy technology and computers. My wife and I love to travel, especially overseas, visiting different places around the world and experiencing new cultures.

I look forward to being able to contribute again this year to the Sanson School Community and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to support and learn from our new principal.

Robyn Wild

Learning Support Teacher

Kia ora,

My name is Robyn Wild, and I am Teaching Support for Sanson School. This will be my fourth year at this school and have loved every minute of it. I have 24 years' experience working with children on different levels, from year 1 to year 8. During these years I have learnt many skills, including Structured Literacy, ESOL, (English as a second language), and many more. I was lucky enough to obtain my LAT, (Limited Authority to Teach), with the year 1-3 students with amazing results.

I believe that we offer a wide range of opportunities in so many ways whether academically, culturally or socially.

I am married, with 3 grownup children, and 6 amazing grandchildren. I love spending quality time with family and friends, reading, cooking, gardening and going for weekends away in our caravan.

Jen Simpson

School Secretary

Hello! I am Mrs Jen Simpson and I'm the secretary here at Sanson School.

My husband Jack and I, along with our three children Hazel, Archie and Molly, live on our family farm just out of Bulls. We live in a very special 1874 homestead so when I'm not in the office at school, or running around to and from the kids' activities, you’ll most likely find us at home, enjoying and upholding this beautiful piece of family history or out exploring & working on the farm. Our happy places also include Ohope beach where we have camped with extended family & friends for many years.

I am super excited to be a part of Sanson School in 2024 and would love to meet you!

You’ll find me in the front entrance on State Highway 1 Mon-Wednesday mornings 8.45-12.30pm- come say hi, and see what our awesome school has to offer!
